Orthotic Technology & Biomechanical Support

The foundation of every Revitalign shoe is our podiatrist-designed orthotic footbed, and the Siesta canvas slip-on is no exception. Our patented Contour Technology features a deep heel cup that stabilizes the rearfoot, a contoured arch that supports the midfoot, and a metatarsal pad that redistributes pressure across the forefoot. This three-point alignment system corrects excessive pronation, which is the inward rolling motion that causes most foot, ankle, and knee pain.

When your feet are properly aligned, the benefits cascade upward through your entire kinetic chain. We’ve worked with orthopedic specialists to verify that our footbed geometry delivers the same correction angle as custom-molded orthotics, but at a fraction of the cost. The Siesta’s orthotic insert is built into the shoe, not simply dropped in as an afterthought, so the midsole foam density and upper construction all work together to maintain that corrective position throughout your stride.

Canvas Upper Construction & Fit Details

We chose a tightly woven cotton canvas for the Siesta upper because it offers breathability without compromising structure. The fabric is reinforced along the heel counter and toe cap to prevent collapse during lateral movement, while the midfoot panels remain flexible enough to move with your foot. Dual elastic gore inserts along both sides of the vamp stretch to accommodate the foot during entry, then gently hug the instep once you’re wearing the shoe.

Sizing & Width Options

The Siesta runs true to size in length, and we offer both medium (B) and wide (D) width options to ensure a proper fit. If you typically wear a half size, we recommend ordering up, as the orthotic footbed takes up slightly more interior volume than a standard flat insole. The elastic gore provides about a half-size worth of stretch, so if you’re between widths, start with the medium and size up in length if needed. Our customer service team can guide you through fit questions before your purchase.

Care Instructions & Durability

One of the most-asked questions we receive is whether canvas shoes can withstand regular wear, and the answer for the Siesta is absolutely yes. The canvas upper is machine washable on a gentle cycle in cold water — simply remove the insole first and air dry the shoe away from direct heat. We’ve treated the canvas with a water-resistant finish that repels light splashes and stains, though we don’t recommend submerging the shoe or wearing it in heavy rain.

The rubber outsole is designed for indoor use and light outdoor walking on dry pavement. While it provides excellent traction on tile, hardwood, and smooth concrete, the tread pattern is not aggressive enough for hiking or trail use. With normal rotation in your weekly footwear lineup, the Siesta canvas slip-on typically lasts 6-9 months of daily wear before the orthotic compression begins to diminish. We recommend replacing orthotic footwear when you notice the arch support flattening, as continued wear beyond that point reduces the biomechanical benefits.

Finally, a slip-on that supports my arches
I’ve struggled with plantar fasciitis for three years and could never find a slip-on shoe that didn’t make my heel pain worse by midday. The Siesta canvas slip-on changed that completely. I wore them to work on day one and noticed the difference within an hour — my usual burning sensation just didn’t show up. I’m now on my second pair and wear them almost daily.

Lightweight and actually cute
I was skeptical that an orthotic shoe could look this normal, but the Siesta doesn’t scream ‘medical shoe’ at all. They’re so light I forget I’m wearing them, and the canvas upper keeps my feet from sweating like they do in synthetic sneakers. The elastic sides make them super easy to slip on when I’m rushing out the door with my kids.

Great arch support, needed to size up
I ordered my usual size 8 and found them snug, so I exchanged for an 8.5 and the fit is perfect now. The arch support is legitimately strong — I could feel it working right away. My only note is that the canvas upper shows dirt easily, but they clean up well in the washing machine. Worth every penny for the foot relief I get.

Best shoes for my nursing shifts
I’m on my feet for twelve-hour hospital shifts, and these are the only slip-ons that don’t leave me limping by hour eight. The orthotic footbed is firm but not uncomfortable, and my lower back pain has decreased noticeably since I started wearing them. I bought a second pair to rotate so I always have a clean set ready.

Helped my overpronation immediately
My physical therapist recommended I get proper orthotic footwear to address my overpronation, and these fit the bill without costing $300 like custom orthotics. I can actually feel the medial arch pushing my foot into alignment, and my knee pain has improved dramatically. The canvas upper is breathable and doesn’t rub anywhere.

Packable travel shoe that doesn’t hurt
I travel for work constantly and needed a shoe I could wear all day walking through airports and client sites without my feet screaming. The Siesta packs flat in my suitcase and provides way more support than any flat or ballet shoe I’ve tried. They’re now a permanent fixture in my carry-on bag.

Good to know

Common questions about the Siesta Canvas Slip-On

Yes, the insole is removable so you can replace it with your own custom orthotic insert. We include a set of flat cushion insoles in the box specifically for this purpose.

Keep in mind that our built-in orthotic footbed is designed to work with the shoe’s midsole and upper construction as an integrated system, so removing it may change the fit slightly. If your custom orthotic has similar thickness to our insole, the fit should remain consistent.

Remove the insole and place the shoes in a mesh laundry bag, then machine wash on a gentle cycle with cold water and mild detergent. Air dry the shoes away from direct heat or sunlight, as high temperatures can warp the orthotic footbed structure.

For spot cleaning between washes, use a damp cloth with a small amount of mild soap to wipe down the canvas upper. The water-resistant treatment will wear off gradually over time, but you can reapply a fabric protector spray after washing to restore some of that protection.

Many customers notice the arch support immediately, especially if they’ve been wearing flat shoes without support. This sensation is normal and typically subsides within 3-5 days as your feet adjust to the proper alignment.

We recommend starting with 2-3 hours of wear per day for the first week, gradually increasing the duration as your feet adapt. If you experience sharp pain rather than mild discomfort, contact our customer service team, as the shoe may not be the right fit for your foot shape.

The medium width (B) measures approximately 3.4 inches across the ball of the foot in a size 8, while the wide width (D) measures approximately 3.7 inches at the same point. The wide version also has a slightly deeper toe box to accommodate higher-volume feet.

If you typically need wide shoes or have bunions or hammertoes, start with the wide width. The elastic gore panels provide some stretch in both widths, but they can’t compensate for a fundamentally too-narrow shoe.

The Siesta is designed for casual walking and all-day standing rather than athletic activity. The canvas upper and flexible outsole don’t provide the lateral stability needed for gym workouts, running, or high-impact exercise.

For fitness activities, we recommend our Boardwalk Orthotic Sneaker, which has a more structured athletic build and a cushioned midsole designed for repetitive impact. The Siesta works well for daily errands, light neighborhood walks, and workplace wear where you’re on your feet but not doing vigorous movement.

With regular rotation in your footwear lineup, the orthotic footbed typically maintains its corrective properties for 6-9 months of daily wear. You’ll know it’s time to replace the shoes when the arch support begins to compress noticeably or when you start feeling the same foot fatigue you experienced before wearing orthotic footwear.

To extend the life of your Siesta slip-ons, avoid wearing them on consecutive days. Alternating with another pair of supportive shoes gives the foam time to decompress and recover between wears.

While the Siesta provides excellent orthotic support, we recommend consulting your podiatrist or healthcare provider before wearing any new footwear if you have diabetes or peripheral neuropathy. Proper fit is critical for diabetic foot health, and reduced sensation can make it difficult to detect pressure points or rubbing.

Our customer service team can help you with detailed fit questions and our 30-day comfort guarantee allows you to test the shoes at home under your doctor’s guidance before committing to keep them.
