The Mabel features our proprietary ContourWave footbed, a podiatrist-engineered insole that guides your foot into neutral alignment with every step. The built-in medial arch support cradles your longitudinal arch at the anatomically correct height, reducing overpronation and distributing pressure evenly across the plantar surface.
Unlike generic foam inserts, our orthotic footbed is molded directly into the sandal structure. The deep heel cup stabilizes your rearfoot and prevents lateral roll, while the metatarsal pad beneath the ball of your foot relieves pressure on the forefoot bones. Materials, construction & durability
We construct the Mabel upper from a combination of genuine leather and breathable textile mesh. The leather panels provide structure and long-term shape retention, while the mesh inserts allow airflow to keep your feet cool in warm weather. All seams are double-stitched and reinforced at stress points.
The outsole is molded rubber with a traction pattern designed for indoor and outdoor surfaces. We extended the rubber coverage under the toe and heel strike zones where wear occurs most rapidly. The outsole is bonded to the EVA midsole using a compression-molded process that eliminates glue separation failures common in cheaper sandals.

The Mabel can handle occasional water exposure and light rain, but it’s not designed as a water sandal. The leather and textile upper will absorb moisture, and prolonged submersion can damage the materials and reduce the lifespan of the orthotic footbed.

If your Mabel slides do get wet, stuff them with newspaper and air dry away from direct heat. Do not use a dryer, as heat will deform the footbed and shrink the leather.
