The Kelso is water-resistant when treated with leather protector spray, but it is not fully waterproof. The leather upper will repel light rain and snow, but prolonged exposure to wet conditions can allow moisture to seep through seams and the zipper.
For winter weather and heavy precipitation, we recommend our Tahoe boot, which features sealed seams and a waterproof membrane. If you do wear the Kelso in wet conditions, allow them to air-dry thoroughly and apply leather conditioner afterward to prevent water damage and maintain the leather’s suppleness.
The Kelso features a 1.5-inch stacked heel that provides a subtle lift without compromising the orthotic footbed’s alignment benefits. We’ve angled the heel to keep your weight centered over your midfoot rather than pitching you forward onto your toes, which is what causes discomfort in higher heels.
The combination of the modest heel height and the cushioned midsole makes the Kelso suitable for extended standing and walking.
